Top Fitness Apps for 2018
Hey girl…hey!! Happy New Year! Most of us dedicate the beginning of a New Year to getting our health right. One thing to keep you from falling off is to PLAN. Plan your days and workouts. I’ve spent the last few weeks working out at home because well the little one and I were sick at one point, holiday time and the daycare was closed. Soooo there went my time at the gym.
I’m very glad I did this because now I can plan my workouts in the gym or at home. As a single parent, I don’t have the time to plan my workouts…not even going to tell you that lie. I. Don’t. Have. Time. So, if I don’t have my workouts planned then it’s not happening. In no particular order, here are my favorite workout apps to make working out easier. No gym, no weights, no excuses. Just your goals, your time, your plan. Let’s jump right in and make it happen, captain.
NTC (Nike Training Club)
Fully loaded with 100+ workouts, clear audio and visual guidance from experts for every move, plus plans to help you get fitter, faster and stronger than ever. Challenge yourself with a huge variety of all-new workouts from Nike Trainers and athletes, including 15-minute options. I’m all about saving my coins, so let me tell you, I was excited that it was FREE! So, head on over to your app store and download this baby.
Keelo
This one is definitely my favorite. I don’t know about you but I love to feel sore after workouts. DOMS (delayed-onset muscle soreness) is a bitch but I like having her around. If you’re looking for kick-ass, CrossFit-level workouts, Keelo is for you boo. High-intensity fitness for all levels with 90+ workouts that you can do at home or the gym. You also get access to a virtual coach to answer any questions you have. It works on your Apple Watch too so no need to continue to pick up your phone. There are some workouts you can do for free but most of them require a plan. All of their plans come with a free 2-week trial and you can choose from: $11.99/month, $29.99/3 months or $69.99/year.
Aaptiv
Aaptiv lets you pick your poison, from cardio and strength training to yoga and marathon training. They also offer unlimited access to trainer-led audio fitness classes with bomb music too. Over 2,500 workouts with 30+ classes added every week. Right now, they are offering 45 percent off so snag the savings while you can! That makes it $8.33/month for a year or month-to-month for $14.99/month.
Sworkit
As seen on Shark Tank, Sworkit allows you to customize and play personalized video workouts that fit into your life. Never get bored, never have an excuse. Available on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android, and web. Whether your goal is to get leaner, stronger and fitter, Sworkit takes the thinking out of your workouts. Their fitness plans are created by their personal trainers to help you accomplish your own individual goals. In a 2015 study, it was ranked as the fitness app that came the closest to the American College of Sports Medicine's training guidelines. The three memberships include: Quarterly for $29.99/3 months or $10/month, Yearly for $79.99 or $6.67/month or Lifetime VIP for $297.
Bodybuilding.com
Before all the apps came around, Bodybuilding.com was the go-to place to get fitness information. From recipes to workouts and tutorials, you found it here. Even better? All of it was FREE. Key word is WAS free. Most of it is still free but the workout plans aren't. You can subscribe for $8.99/month or $89.99/year. As much as I was upset about it not being free anymore, this one is hands down the best one. The plans include your planned workouts and customizable nutrition plans. All the guesswork is gone. They also have every program you can think of from beginner and advanced to building muscle, shredding and post-pregnancy plans.
I hope this helps you! If you use an app not listed here, drop it in the comments and let me know! I would love to try it! Remember, planning is 80 percent of the battle and this helps you a ton.
